You have seen a lot of landscapes, buildings, street art, animals, flowers and god knows what else, but here for the first time a portrait I shot a while back of a good friend of mine.
Turned out quite well in my opinion 🙂
Sunset in the background and it’s reflections in the lens is unedited, the black and white part is obviously edited – even though it seems unbelievable – her eyes actually have this colour, the colour seems more dominant in the black and white portrait though (ok – maybe a tiny little bit – but nothing else than a small clarity filter ;))
Have a good start to the week!
Fantastic! A very successful portrait.
Thank you!
gorgeous!
true 😉 and thanks (depending on what you are complimenting ;))
Unusual and striking! How did you do it?!
Adobe Lightroom allows you to have different development settings for different zones – so you just mark your areas and for example have one part black and white and another one colour …
very nicely done, love the eyes
thank you Polly!
I love it!!!!
Thanks Marta 🙂
Agree with Polly, love the eyes. An excellent portrait with superb processing.
Thank you David!
Great eyes..

Nice surprise! Well done!!
Thank you Theadora!

I must repeat what others have thought: gorgeous!
Thanks Marina!
that is so, so cool – very good first portrait! can’t wait to see more. cheers, y
I will look for more willing models and then post it 🙂
great shot!
Thank you 🙂
stunning work!!!!
Thank you Andrea! 🙂
Beautiful! Like a lot how you processing enhance the content of the image.
Thank you – probably the field I need to learn more than photography is post processing – in both I take the learning by doing/experimenting approach 🙂
Lovely pic. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Mark!
what a beautiful portrait 🙂
Thank you Kristina!
“Turned out well” is an understatement. This is a fantastic shot. Well done.
Thank you Calvin 🙂
That really is a stunning portrait. Excellent shot and some really neat photo editing techniques.
Thank you Chillbrook!

Thank you Joanna!
Really great work!! Stunning! 🙂
Thank you Bill!
Striking portrait! 🙂
Thank you Robin!
Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my photo. I have to say you have some awesome photos here, especially this one. I don’t take portraits usually, since I find them hard to do I love everything about this one of yours.
I am only starting with portraits as well – lets see if I manage a couple more 😉
the interplay between the background and the subject is compelling – it’s as if she’s zooming toward the viewer and then we are drawn to the sun, then back again. beautifully balanced.
Thank you Beth!
Striking and beautiful. I love the various light you have captured….the colors and depth…her incredible eyes!
Thank you 🙂 !
Great photo, Stefan.
Thank you Richard! (or his guest ;))
This is a fantastic portrait – not merely a good likeness but giving us an insight into the character.
Thank you – I agree, that it shows more than the mere outside – but then again I know her 🙂 – glad you agree!
FABULOUS! I love it!
Thank you Shayna!
Gorgeous shot! Love the burst of sun light. Fun portrait too as she looks like there is a little bit of a back story here!
True 🙂 – Lets say she wasn’t the most cooperative model 😉 – didn’t want to be photographed and tried to hide (but I think she liked the turnout in the end since she allowed me to post it)
What a delightful portrait! Very fun choices leading to a terrific image.
Kathryn
Thank you Kathryn!
Great picture and the editing enhances it!!
Well done!
Thank you Bruce!
Reblogged this on The View Through My Lens and commented:
Amazing use of light, colour and editing!
Awesome!
Thank you NotManhatten 🙂
this is beautiful!
Thank you Joseph!
Nice shot, but for me the b&w is too stark – have you tried reducing the saturation to keep just a little colour in model. It should still highlight those fantastic eyes and look a little more natural.
Thank you so much! Always looking for feedback since I still have so much to learn (well actually I never learned any of that stuff – just learning by doing ;))
I will try that and post the result!
Nice work! You definitely have talent in photography!
Wow! It’s like I can see the world in her eyes! Very nice!
Gorgeous
