Recently I found out, that wordpress.com (this blogging platform) has a weekly photo challenge – this weeks topic is “green” so I selected “puppy” by Jeff Koons in front of Guggenheim, Bilbao, Spain.
Puppy was installed in 1997 and already survived an assassination attempt – the basque terrorist organisation tried to install explosive filled flowerpots near the sculpture. A basque policeman, Jose María Aguirre, foiled this attempt, but lost his life during it. The square in front of Guggenheim is since named after him.
