Hungerburgbahn

These are pictures of the funicular railway stations designed by Zaha Hadid and opened in 2007.

The railway goes from downtown Innsbruck (Capital of Tyrol, Austria) to 800 meters above sealevel where another cable car goes up to 2256 meters with a great view over the city and the surrounding mountains (and in Winter you can go skiing of course).

Also the Bergisel Ski Jump was designed by Zaha Hadid:

  1. I’ve put that in my “weird but cool” category… It’s a style I love to visit but would hate to live in if you know what I mean. I can just see every skateboarder at heart wishing they would get on that roof 🙂
