Stranded at the End of the World

It was in 1953 when the tugboat St. Christopher became famous through it’s involved in an attempt to save the “Titanic of the South” – the SS Monte Cervantes. Ironically St. Christopher itself also stranded in 1957 in the harbour of Ushuaia, Argentina where it is still today.

Ushuaia, on the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego, prides itself to be the southernmost city worldwide, and therefore a lot of the Antartica missions leave from its harbour. It is a wild, but charming city, that attracts its tourist with the nature around it.
