Maybe it is just me, but these balconies I found in the harbour of Amsterdam seem to be quite unsafe, not only but especially for children and drunks. I am not afraid of heigths, but standing on such a thing on the fourth floor would cause slight discomfort …
Even though the idea is an interesting one I would prefer fixed balconies if I buy an appartment like that once

The only thing these would be good for would be plants – made me uneasy also. Wonder who thought this up, and what were they thinking?

Neat idea, but executed poorly. These things should have more safety features.
They use something similar in Asia, but its to lift furniture into the house not a balcony!! I would not be able to stand outside… too scared
How is that legal? Shouldn’t it at least have railings?! Big fear of heights over here….. are you sure it’s only slight discomfort?
